Today's seeds are all about pairings. Once again, it turns out at the end of the day that many of these are food related because I get hungry while playing XBOX. I don't know why that happens, but there's something about all those chickens and mooshroom cows wondering around that gets my microwave going.
Today, I have a series of seed names that were based on the ballet and a few that were based on geography. I plan to have more this week, so stay tuned.
For the love of James Lipton, it's June 1st. Where has this year gone? It's already half over! This is simply awful. I had so many plans. So many dreams. Time, like water through a ravine pours --
-- wait a minute. Now that I think about it, July 2nd is the midpoint of the year. My bad. Alright, nobody panic. We've still got lots and lots of time before we have more lots and lots of time.
Here's another motley assortment of mundane words and phrases that produce extraordinary results if you secretly know where to use them.
Oh, an I found a seed so heinous that I had to create a new classification called "nightmare" to describe it.
Hey all. Not a whole lot of selection and I'm sure some of you have noticed that "pestleandmortar" had and abysmal score and yet somehow made the list. Well, that's because I found a "black cave" that I simply could not ignore. So, just for the sake of the photo, he made the list.
Today's theme: Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Two greats of the early cinema, they did a bunch of movies together. I picked my four favorites and tested them out -- with great results.
Hey, all. I was a bit hungry when I started today, so the theme of these seeds is "food glorious food". chickenmarsala had this one island that was really cool so I included it. The other three were all-star finds. The three holes in steakdiane brought it awfully close to legendary status.
[ 27.1 ] steakdiane
[ 25.7 ] bananafoster
[ 20.9 ] lobsterbisque
[ 13.9 ] chickenmarsala
In case you haven't been on in a while, there was an update two days ago. Nothing big, just some fixes. Also, they just launched free skins to celebrate the one-year "Birthday" of XBOX Minecraft. So, just in case you want to change the way you look in Minecraft I figured I'd mention it.
Today was a great day for villages. Similar scores, but for vastly different reasons. None of these seeds were standouts, but that could be because of the mega seed (iodicacid) I spent my weekend playing. "privateiii" is a great little island seed and each of the others have one or two really cool things I thought you might like to see that helped them make the list.
Each of the seeds on today's list were hit songs from the 1980s.
The above image just proves that Minecraft is getting weirder and weirder. So, my first all-star suicide level (morphshock) came out of the box today. Still looking for my first legendary seed. Hopefully, this weekend I'll be able to go on a tear and maybe do like thirty seed names to find the golden snitch of Minecraft seeds.
[ 23.7 ] flyswatter
[ 19.4 ] morphshock
[ 18.5 ] reca49
[ 13.3 ] 1ofus

So, another successful batch. I've got four this time. The first one (2jj8h) is a very exciting, beautiful expert level that I highly recommend. For those of you who like trees, it turns out "forest4thetrees" is a great one for whatever you do with dark forests.
[ 25.2 ] 2jj8h
[ 20.2 ] forest4thetrees
[ 14.1 ] muggsybogues
[ 13.0 ] erudite

Here are the seeds for today. I found two solid seeds and another one (matchmaker) that was worth mentioning because it has a really nice The End level and I found this killer huge open cavern.
Frankly, I waged a battle in my head over whether or not to call 4b2a1 "legendary" -- but decided against it at the last minute. I will however say that it's one of the best I've seen and there are plenty of mountains and waterfalls and cool nooks to experiment and build your fortresses in. Highly, highly recommended.
[ 26.5 ] 4b2a1
[ 19.8 ] starladder

The End/Ender Portals
So, I've decided to (occasionally) take screenshots of The End from way up in the air so you can see the layout, since I've been able to determine that it's slightly different every time. More importantly, I'm going to try to find the Ender Portal and it's stronghold in each seed (every seed has one) using the eye orbs.
Now, it turns out that eye orb divining is not an exact science. If I get frustrated or it starts going longer than half an hour of searching, I'm just going to ballpark the coordinates and let you finish the search on your own.

Today's seeds are sponsored by NBA 2K13 for the Playstation 3. If you're an NBA sports nut like I am, you probably already own this game. But if you're new to the franchise or just looking to expand your sports horizons, hit play on the video above and, if you like what you see, click on the link below to head on over to OfficeMax and snatch it up.
Well, here we go. New update, new seeds. I still am finding bugs -- including waterfalls that pour into lava without creating obsidian and a really, really annoying torch situation where they fail to illuminate the walls correctly -- or sometimes at all.
Most annoying is the low-RAM situation -- which is still lagging heavily if I attempt to use dynamite or if I aggro more than ten creeps. Clearly the programmers have done everything they have been asked to do, hardware limitations be damned. All I can do is hope that XBOX 720 comes out soon.
I am looking forward to The End. I'm hoping it also changes with each seed. I'll test that theory out later in the week and then post photos.
What's crackin' people. I have finally fully recovered from the effects of Hurricane Sandy and now I am back up and running and I have a half dozen seeds for you and, frankly, one entry that isn't a seed so much as it is a broken husk of a map -- a shameful survival nightmare set against the backdrop of a tiny island in the middle of a lake in the middle of nowhere.
[ 96.8 ] littleblackant
[ 82.5 ] misfitmadness
[ 78.1 ] fallentree
[ 70.2 ] proposedposition
[ 66.3 ] relegated
[ 52.8 ] blastdamage
[ 10.0 ] 6921814811422130416
In addition to these other seeds, I also have a bonus seed that I didn't feel like writing up, but was a very nice beginner level. The seed "intemerata" (no quotes) was one of the best mega-forests I've found. Outside of the trees/wood/forests you won't find much of anything else, but it's a nice place to start for noobs. Here is the map:
So, just in time before the hurricane destroys my home, job, and blog, I've posted the remainder of the good French seeds I found and a request from my cousin (2002) that turned out to be one of the best I've seen so far.
Given the unpredictable nature of hurricanes, there may be some delay in my next seeds coming out. I apologize in advance.
So, yesterday was more about getting clear in my head which aspects of the seeds I was going to rate and how to reformat the posts to accommodate the new 1.8.2 update. Now that I think I've got it clear, today I focused on really seeking out and evaluating top quality seeds. Of the eighteen I tried, here are six 1.8.2 seeds that I think you're going to enjoy:
[ 73.4 ] .party()
[ 69.4 ] twelfth
[ 67.8 ] sergeant
[ 63.3 ] vaccum
[ 58.8 ] rhythm&rhyme
[ 51.5 ] chiaroscuro

This week was a tough week. I was working on my other blog and working at my job more than usual. However, just in time for the weekend, here is a stunning batch of new seeds including three premium rated seeds.
This collection of seeds is dedicated to the world-famous comic strip Calvin and Hobbes, as penned by one of my personal heroes cartoonist Bill Watterson. If you are unfamiliar with the comic strip, you can read all about it here.
[ 46.1 ] crowquill
[ 45.7 ] spacemanspiff
[ 42.3 ] sableandindia
[ 37.8 ] susiederkins
[ 34.9 ] misswormwood
[ 30.3 ] Watterson
[ 24.2 ] calvin+hobbes
Pay special attention to "crowquill" and "susiederkins" -- both have Gargamel-style massive caverns in them.
So here it is, people. Hugely successful, this is one of the best days this blog is ever going to see. First of all, the theme of today is Jimi Hendrix. In addition, I'm posting my 200th seed ever and before everyone goes nuts, I deliberately misspelled "bicentenial" because it was a better seed than "bicentennial". That's right. I do things like that. Live with it.
Most importantly, from the Jimi Hendrix collection comes "ashokan", a stunning and legendary seed that is just one gigantic mountain range. It was glorious and narrowing down the photos for this beast was a challenge all to itself. It took three days and a total of seven hours to walk the map. It rivals "opensource" in the mountain department because while -source has one pocket of epic mountains, ash- has an entire board full of things to see and climb.
What's crackin', people! I checked out another eight seed names today: three that were recommended to me by friends and five original seeds. I'm going to post them all individually later on today, but each has at least one really amazing feature that makes it worth checking out.
[ 38.2 ] philadelphia
[ 37.0 ] aabbaac
[ 32.5 ] blackspot
[ 31.2 ] meh
[ 30.5 ] Octagona
[ 29.1 ] bucketsoflava
[ 28.2 ] dustbunny
[ 28.1 ] roflmao
I'm thinking about doing a video for Octogona sometime this week because the main attraction in that seed is a massive cave with huge caverns. Also, I lost the map for "philadelphia" in a tragic moment of user error, so I plan on getting that to you in the future as well.
Today's seeds include some of the leftover mathematical seeds I was investigating last week as well as a pair of lunar seeds that serendipitously came into my life because sometimes I lack focus. This was an unusually highly-rated day, with two seeds rated as premium and six seeds in the thirties. Enjoy!
[ 40.8 ] theborgiapopes
[ 40.4 ] 1.6180339887
[ 37.1 ] toilinsoil
[ 36.7 ] moonburn
[ 35.4 ] sqrt(-1) love you!
[ 34.8 ] paperfaces
[ 34.6 ] soilsystem
[ 32.6 ] lostark
[ 29.0 ] Theia
[ 27.1 ] doomsday
[ 27.0 ] templeofdoom
[ 21.2 ] moonbeam

So, two days ago, Australia overtook the United Kingdom as the second most popular country of origin for people checking out my blog. So, as a thank you to all my loyal Aussies, here is a collection of Australian-themed seed names.
