Etymology

Beginning in fifth position, the ballet dancer leaps into the air, rapidly crosses their legs, and lands again in fifth position. The motion is something that anyone can learn on their own; the landing is the part that makes ballet such a complex discipline.

Notes

It's hard to tell from the ground, but basically there is a massive lake in the middle of the map. You're going to find a lot of large caverns on this level, but cave systems heading down to Y=12 are rare. I found a really cool formation with a tall lava fall that I shall henceforth refer to as "The Devil's Tongue".

Etymology

Mushrooms and chicken all slathered in a yummy wine sauce: what's not to love? Oh no. I'm hungry again. :( = sad face.

Notes

You've got a tiny little archipelago on your hands here. I found a really awesome cove that was very scenic as well as a tiny island with a deep cave planted right in the middle of it. Really, this seed isn't much to talk about, but there was this one beautiful mountainous island with a floater and some waterfalls that I just couldn't resist showing you guys. So it made the cut.

Etymology

Andalusite is a hideously ugly mineral composed of aluminum, silicon, and oxygen. It's dipyramidal crystal structure doesn't translate to the macro level like most other minerals -- even though it has a hardness of 7.0. And unlike, say, obsidian (which fractures with beautiful conchoidal style), Andalusite fractures with ridiculous unpredictability. In raw form, it usually looks like someone vomited all over it; after a stonesmith gets through with it, it's a pretty amber hued gemstone.

Etymology

I play DOTA 2 and this is the name of one of their upcoming tournaments I think. Actually, I don't know. It flashed by while I was waiting for my match to begin, so really it could have been an ad for tickets on a vacation into outer space.

My Review

This is a really nice archipelago -- three main islands and then a couple of little ones hanging around. I like how each island is different and they more or less surround a huge body of water. I found a really cool stronghold that spanned a ravine; on one of the bridges was just sitting a chest. In the same stronghold, I found a flooded library -- not something you see every day. I was also impressed with a huge erosion in the middle of the desert on the west island. It's so big, you can clearly make it out on the map.

All told, even without villages this is a really cool map for groups who want to float from island to island for a little while. The only bad parts were the two swamps: one in the southeast corner the other in the northwest corner. Check out the last photo below: a random floater with a rose.
