Etymology

After World War II, the city of Berlin was divided into two parts: east and west. East Berlin was controlled by Russia; the West by American/English administrators. Due to the restrictive nature of communism, East Berlin became a truly repressive place to live. Though 99% of the wall is gone, to this day you can distinguish both sides by looking at the architectural differences (visible even in aerial photographs).

The ender portal on this level has four eyes already in place, so that's nice. Also, you're going to find some good mountains and a nice nether.

Etymology

When a ballet dancer begins in first, third, or fifth position and then leaps forward and lands again in the same position. If you drop the "u", it becomes a somersault.

Etymology

Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall were at one time the king and queen of Hollywood. Together, they made a bunch of movies and a couple of kids. They sacrificed their position of power to speak out against the House Un-American Activities Committee witch-hunt trials. Sadly, Bogart died in the 1950s from Cancer, but Bacall is still making movies -- at the age of 88.

Notes

Some good mountains in this one, including a lake bordered on three sides by cliffs. I found a village with a cave in the middle of it and two small ravines that cross each other forming what I will henceforth refer to as a "raptor claw" -- after the birds, not the dinosaurs.

Notes

This was an awesome level! Firstly, the entire southwest corner is just a big mess of caves, ravines, and one ender portal. It's not the best I've ever seen, but it will be a great place to play for a couple days. Better than that, though. About dead center in the map, you'll find a cave complex that is absolutely stunning. Huge chasms, winding paths that you can get lost in forever. It's just beautiful. Sadly, it's a hike from the southwest corner mountain range, but between the two I think everyone should check this one out.

BTW, red-stone-a-plenty on this one.

My Review

The mountains on this level are very, very cool. At one point, I threw my hands in the air and was like -- there's too many waterfalls. I give up. Then I saw another one and I was like, "MINE!" This level has probably one of everything. I found a lagoon, a mushroom island, lava pit, pumpkins, at least a half-dozen lava falls, and who knows how many waterfalls. It's crazy and gorgeous all at once.

The southeast corner has these great keys out in the water.

Can't Miss

My first can't miss of TU9. So exciting! What can it be? It's a pit full of waterfalls. That's it. Really cool hole in the ground -- probably something you're not going to see again for a while. Coords are 106.65.-293 -- just don't go diving into it without a way to get back out.

The Nether

Wide open. It contains a fantastic nether fortress -- full of bridges. There were some great lava falls and the whole "horizon" was just swimming with bad guys. If you decide to go, seriously consider building your portal at 79.100.-80, as that dropped me in a prime spot.
